here’s the story.

When COVID hit in 2020, like many others who were quarantined inside for months, I needed something to keep me sane. I needed a COVID hobby.

One day I found myself craving a Philly Cheesesteak eggroll. Since restaurants were closed I decided to create my own recipe. To my surprise, the final product tasted better than any Philly Cheesestake eggroll I had tried before. This got me thinking…“What else would taste good as an eggroll?”

I’m the type of person who wants to try everything on a menu. I would much rather have 10 appetizers at the table and no entrees. Why choose just one when you could have a bite of everything? I always say, variety is the spice of life, so why limit yourself to only one thing?!

And just like that, I had found my COVID hobby. Each day I took my favorite foods and stuffed them into eggrolls…much to the delight of friends and family who were my taste testers. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive and always delivered with a smile.

“These are delicious, I want more.”

Cooking for others had always been a passion of mine, so I took this as a sign. Cooking is what I should be doing. Creating and cooking eggrolls, that is.

So, I took a leap of faith, bought a truck, continued to cook, and in 2021 I launched Uncle Sal’s Gourmet Eggrolls.
